Learning comes in different forms.
Picking up some best practices from those who are already doing great things has always been helpful to those who also want to succeed.
Bloggers Ng Pinas was graced by one successful Filipina blogger, beauty enthusiast, commercial model, and TV and events host in a brief interview.
We asked a few questions and Ms. Valerie Tan gladly answered.
Who’s is Valerie?
Valerie is a beauty enthusiast, commercial model, and TV and events host. Her passion for beauty is undeniable, resulting to this blog and her entrepreneurial baby, GlamBox Airbrush Cosmetics which was awarded the Most Outstanding Makeup Brand for 2011 by Top Brands Awards.
Aside from blogging, she is a segment host and producer of Trending on News To Go, GMA News TV’s morning newscast.
Her modelling career has been fruitful, having done lead roles for TV commercials that aired in the Philippines, Cambodia and USA.
Some of Val’s more memorable moments were being nominated as Best Morning Show Host at the 2013 Star Awards for TV for GMA News TV’s “Kape At Balita”, and as Best Lifestyle Host at the 2009 Star Awards for TV for Q-11’s “The Beat”.
She loves to try new things and go to different places. She hopes to be able to share her reviews and experiences on beauty, food, travel, fitness and more on this blog.
So we asked Val…
What inspired you to start blogging?
I started blogging due to my love for beauty and makeup. I wanted an avenue where I can share makeup reviews, tutorials and anything beauty related. Throughout the years, it has evolved to be a beauty and lifestyle blog since I'm also always on the go. So my blog now covers beauty, food, fashion and travel.
What part of blogging you are interested to learn more about?
I blog out of passion but I understand that it's now considered a job and career. I want to learn more about the business aspect of it.
In your own opinion, when would you consider someone as already successful in blogging?
I consider someone a successful blogger when he has a readership or following who respects and trusts him.
Who are the bloggers you follow and/or look up to?
For international bloggers, I like Michelle Phan and Aimee Song. For local, it's Chuvaness and Anton of Our Awesome Planet.
What frustrates you in the Philippines blogging industry?
None really. I feel the Philippine blogging industry has still a lot of room to grow so it's very exciting.
Where can people find more about your works?
